SushiDito Davao: A Taste of Japanese Cuisine

Before 2012 ended, I never thought I would get a chance to eat in a Japanese Restaurant that time. Well, I adored Japanese cuisines especially on how they presented them but didn't have any idea on how it all tasted like.

Mango Avocado Maki (Mango, Tamago, Avocado) - Php 140 for 8pcs
Due to some pressures and hassles in work, our Boss decided to treat us in the nearby restaurant to relieve us from stress and randomly picked SushiDito Davao

SushiDito Davao (Sushi "Here" Davao) serves a variety of delightful and pleasantly made Japanese food cuisines. Their main specialties are Dragons, Makis, Nigiris, Rice Bowls, Ramen Bowls and some other Japanese recipes. The area isn't that big and there's only limited space for parking area but don't fret because you can order online through their website and they deliver right in front of your doorstep for FREE! Great, isn't it?
These were some of our orders. Had I known 8pcs would be more than enough (because they looked really small) then I should have ordered 4pcs, haha.

Christmas Dinner at Picobello Italian Restaurant, Davao City

picobello italian restaurant logo
Picobello Ristorante Italiano, or commonly known as Picobello itself, is one of the most visited Italian Restaurant here in Davao City. Located at 5th floor, Gaisano South CitiMall, Ilustre St. corner Gen. Luna St, Davao City. Famous for pastas and pizzas, Italian recipe will probably be the next favorite food cuisine of the Filipinos aside from Chinese foods.

As company's celebration for Christmas, our boss decided to have a dinner party at Picobello, just a few steps away from our office, Hager Travel & Tours. The restaurant looks simple yet elegant. The cozy atmosphere and the lively serenader will entertain you during your whole stay. You can request for a song but for a reminder, they don't know all the songs you might request. They've got a friendly staffs too and that's what I liked the most.

We were a group of  9 people. Not quite many, huh, hehe and probably the most noisy one inside. I ordered vegetable and sea food salad as for the fist course.

I ordered the left dish, sea food salad.

Honestly, my taste buds were not accustomed to foreign dishes and merely the reason why I could hardly finish the first course. I might have been the silliest one because I just ate the sea foods with a lil' bite of veges. For the main course, I ordered boneless chicken, but it is not really boneless you know, lol. I was so full then yet I am anticipating for the dessert, hopeful that it would not be as odd as the previous orders I had.

Looking at the menu, Gelati (scoop of ice cream) caught my eyes, but I decided I would share the dessert with my other officemate to assure we wouldn't waste another order. We both agreed to order Strudel Di Mele (warm apple strudle with vanilla ice cream). It tastes good and the vanilla is heavenly.

The place, the food and the tastes are all new to me. I may not at first totally liked the food but it doesn't mean I won't ever try it again. We never know the next time I eat them, it could be my next favorite and it's not beyond any bounds impossible to happen.

I must also mention that Picobello is famous for their pizzas. You might want to try them out!

Budget Meal at Penong's Barbeque Seafoods and Grill

During our visit in Jack's Ridge, we should have had our dinner at Taklobo Restaurant but unfortunately, they were not as accommodating as we thought. They were just ignoring us for heaven's sake or perhaps, they had sensed that they couldn't get enough from us? hmmmppp. Whatever reasons, we just couldn't take our growling bellies anymore. So, the moment we decided to leave, we headed to Penong's Barbeque Seafoods and Grill in front of crossing Shrine Hills, Matina Davao City.
The juiciest and delicious chicken barbeque
Penong's has the juiciest chicken barbeque I had ever tasted. Aside from offering unlimited rice, they are reasonably cheaper too. Penong's is one of the most renowned restaurants here in Davao City and certainly has numerous customers from average to high class people. It was really popular here...

Penong's Inato Meal
We had waited for about 20 minutes to get our orders done. Quiet long for us who were dead hungry!

We also ordered kinilaw which I really liked. I never had thought kinilaw could be mixed with sliced mango (of course, green mango). I hadn't tasted it before not until recently...
Delicious kinilaw with tiny sliced mango...? Oh, but I really love it!
This kinilaw tasted so good than those I ever had tasted before... I couldn't help eating even the sliced mango even though I wasn't really fond of sour foods. XD

I spent Php 311 for 2 persons. Pretty cheap, isn't it?
I have heard some not-so-good feedback about Penong's but, as for my own "personal" experience, I will definitely go back to this place for sure next time. They had the best chicken barbeque and kinilaw too, so far:D
